Hazardous Environment/Remote Area Medic-First Aider Course
This course
is aimed at Police Officers – Range Wardens/Officers, Response/Extraction
teams; personnel who may have limited access to professional support e.g.
expeditions/remote areas, News teams working abroad.

Ballistic and Fragmentation Injuries, Stabbings, Crush Injuries,
Amputations from explosions / building collapse, expedition accidents.
Management

(including the use of collars)
Chest
Injuries
Bleeding
Internal/External
Shock
Wounds
Head
Injuries
Amputations
Fractures
Minor
Injuries
All subjects covered will aim at maximum ‘hands on’
participation by candidates. Trauma management manikins will be used.
This course will culminate in Scenario training to put skills learnt into
practice using Casualty Simulation Techniques, Pyrotechnics where
appropriate, to enhance realism. This stage is designed to be messy and
dirty; candidates should bring ‘Scruffy’ clothes on day 2 and clothing
relevant to their role e.g. helmets flak jackets etc.
Oxygen administration including airway management and/or Defibrillation
can be added.
A minimum of two trainers will be used on each course, one of whom will be
ex-military, and the number of trainers provided may be increased if
required.
